The member representing the Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Bamidele Salam has said that the Inspector General of Police, Muhammadu Adamu has failed to acknowledge the petition letter he wrote over the death of one Idris Ajibola who was allegedly chased to death by the men of Osun Joint Task Force on September 15th, 2020.
AMILOADED recalls that the Lawmaker on September 17th, 2020 gave the IGP seven days to identify and prosecute the policemen involved in the death of the victim while he and his friends were being chased or he would institute a legal action to seek payment of compensation to the family of the deceased.
However, Salam took to his Facebook page on Tuesday to express that the IGP has not acknowledged his letter.
According to his post, “A young man in my constituency was chased to death by men in uniform almost one month ago. I wrote a letter to the IGP @PoliceNG demanding arrest of the perpetrators. The IGP has had no time to even acknowledge my letter! #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria#”
