G on Sunday night killed a former Works Director at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Hassan Jama’are.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked and murdered Jama’are around 10pm as he drove into his residence in the Tudun Salmanu area of Bauchi metropolis.
This is coming barely 24 hours after gunmen killed two persons in the Gudum Hausawa area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the murder in a telephone interview with The PUNCH.
Wakil explained that “the gunmen had trailed him and when he got to his house and was about to open the gate, they attacked him and shot at him at a close range. They also seized his Honda Accord car keys and drove it away.”
He added that Jama’are managed to crawl into the house and his family raised an alarm which attracted neighbours to the scene.
“The Police was informed and he was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor,” the PPRO added.
He said Police operatives have been drafted to the area while the attackers are being trailed by the Police in order to apprehend them.
