The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun is set to lift the ban it placed on campaigns ahead of the September 22 governorship election in the state.
A reliable source in the party revealed that the leadership of the party had agreed to lift ban on campaigns before this week runs out.
Recall that the leadership of the party had in early 2017 barred aspirants contesting on the platform of the party from publicly declaring ambitions “in order not to distract the government in power”.
But the source who confided in Amiloaded said “I can authoritatively tell you that the party leadership will meet with aspirants to discuss modality for campaign and primary in view of array of challenges at hand.
“The leadership of the party will also meet with leaders of the party from all the local governments across the state.
“Obviously, we are lifting ban on political activities this week, to kick start electioneering proper and give room for all our aspirants to canvass for supports.
“Although, I cannot say specifically whether today, tomorrow or next tomorrow but what I am very sure of is that the party would lift the ban on political activities between now and Sunday.” the source said
“We shall brief the press immediately we are through with all the consultations,” he concluded.
