The President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new Director/Chief Executive for the National Mathematical Centre for an initial tenure of five years.
He also reappointed heads of five education agencies in the country, including the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board

Prof Abubakar Rasheed- Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission
Born in October 1957 at Makarfi in Kaduna State, Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed mni MFR attended the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School, Makarfi between 1966 and 1971; School for Arabic Studies, Kano (1972-1976); Bayero University, Kano (1977-1980 and 1981-1983); Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1986-1991) and the University of Nottingham, England, (1989-1990). He holds, among other qualifications, a B.A., two MAs, and a PhD in different aspects of English Studies.
Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi
Born on 29th July, 1957 in Yola, Adamawa State, Dr. Bobboyi obtainexd his FSLC in 1971 at Fufore Primary School. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, Yola and obtained his WASC in 1975. He got admission into the North East College of Arts and Science, Maiduguri and Northwestern University, Evanston Illinois, USA, where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history in 1982, followed by a Master’s Degree Ph.D in history of Educational Institutions in 1992.
Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe – Registrar/CEO of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board
Professor Ifeoma Mercy Isiugo-Abanihe is the Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), Benin City. Prior to her appointment by the Federal Government on August 01, 2016, she was appointed Director, Institute of Education, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, where she had served as an academic staff for over twenty-three years. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe is a Professor of Language Education and Educational Evaluation. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English Language/Communication and Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, and Ph.D in Educational Evaluation from the International Centre for Educational Evaluation, Institute of Education, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede – Registrar/Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
Prof. Is-haq Olarewaju Oloyede was born in October 1954. He hails from Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State. He was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) on June 19, 2003 and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) on July 6, 2005. His tertiary education began in the University of Ilorin in 1978 where he studied Arabic and was awarded a B.A. Arabic (First Class Hons) in 1981. In 1991, he had his Doctorate degree in Islamic Studies also from the University of Ilorin. Prof. Oloyede was elevated to professorial rank in 1995.
