The leadership of Federation of Ekiti Students’ Union (FESSU) has endorsed the project tagged ‘Students’ Against Hunger’, an online reality contest which is powered by Richlife Africa.
This was revealed to AMILOADED in a statement on Wednesday signed by the National President, FESSU, Akomolafe Babajide Petkoff and National Secretary, FESSU, Idowu Ebenezer Oluwaseyi.
The leadership of FESSU said the initiative of the contest was birthed following the organization’s resolve to eradicate hunger among Nigerians, reduce the menace of unemployment and poverty among the youth populace in Nigeria.
The statement partly reads: “This initiative of the contest was birthed following the organization’s resolve to eradicate hunger among Nigerians, reduce the menace of unemployment and poverty among the youth populace in Nigeria.
“Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union as a virile Students’ body that consistently seeks to promote the welfare of her members proudly endorsed the project having critically examined the initiative which is considered as that which could better the lives of her members and the society at large.
“The delegation of FESSU National leadership at a meeting to understand the Richlife Africa’s initiative includes the National President ‘Jide-Petkoff Akomolafe, the National Secretary Idowu Ebenezer, the Deputy Senate President Alao Yisa Abiodun and the immediate Past National President Adewumi Idowu Peter alonsgide the managements of Richlife Africa.
“It must be mentioned that the contest presents a golden opportunity to Nigerian students and youths with one talent or the other (including singing, dancing, poetry, writing, comedy, etc) to showcase and propagate their talents as participants would be tasked to attract likes on their social media handles (specifically Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and votes from their supporters.
“The endorsement of this initiative is not disconnected from the essence of the contest which is for discovery of potential talents and more importantly for human capacity building, as these will go a long way in helping our teeming members (Ekiti State indigenous students) who might likely win gain financial freedom.
“At the end of the contest, 100 contestants with the highest likes will win 5Million Naira each, 2nd runner Ups of 100 contestants with highest votes will win 5M Naira each, 1st Runner Ups of 100 contestants with the highest number of VOTES will win 10M Naira each, 1 contestant with overall number of votes will win 100M Naira + Global Ambassador Against Hunger (G.A.A.H) Crown. Not only that, voters are not left out as 10,000 lucky voters will win one Android phone worth 100k each.
“Registration for this Online Reality Contest is open to 100,000 Students in tertiary institutions, fresh graduates awaiting NYSC, currently serving Corps members throughout Nigeria, who fall within the age of 16 to 30.
