Federation Of Iwoland Students’ Union To Honour Indigenes With Awards Of Meritorious Service

The leadership of the Federation of Iwoland Students’ Union (FILSU), National Headquarters, will on Thursday, December 23, 2021, honour notable indigenes of the community with awards of meritorious service, AMILOADED reports.

The event slated to hold at Dove Excellent Event Place, Bowen Road, Iwo, Osun State, is expected to have Oba (Dr.) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi as the Royal Father of the Day, while Senator Adelere Oriolowo would be the Chairman of the Day.

The event would also witness the launching of the Parrot Magazine and inauguration of Union Patrons and Patroness.

According to the union, some of the awardees are Prof. Kayode Alao of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Chief (Mrs) Funmilayo Jabaru, the Iyalaje of Iwoland, Alhaji Liad Tella, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Iwoland, Barrister Gbadegesin Adedeji, the Asiwaju of Iwoland, and General (Rtd) Musibau Adelekan Adeniran, Retired Military General.

It further stated, “For us to continue growing as a community and drawing socio-economic prosperity to our community, it is this administration’s conviction that, it is imperative we appreciate the sacrifices of our loyal and patriotic people who have tremendously contributed and still contributing to our common good, even at personal cost.

“As the day draws close and the curtains being ventilated, the following dignitaries have been cordially invited and are warming up to grace the occasion: Oba (Dr.) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi (Royal Father of the Day), Senator Adelere Oriolowo (Chairman of the Day), Engr. Lanre Adeleke, among others.

“The major highlight of the program will feature a brilliant discussion of the theme: Patriotism, Untapped Potentials and National Development, by the Guest Lecturer, Dr. Oluwafemi Abanikannda while the Keynote Speaker is Dr. Taofeeq Abdulhameed, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ayepe.”
