Empowered Youths Make An Empowered Nation – Osun Commissioner For Youth Engagement

State of Osun Youths have been charged to be all round leaders via
good learning, self-control, studying their environment, have great
attributes and impact their generation with good character and
competence.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Empowerment and Youth Engagement, Mrs. Mofolake Adetoun Adegboyega stated this during the courtesy call of
student of Ebunoluwa International Group of Schools at her office at the Government Secretariat.

She commended State of Osun Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his empowerment policies, which have put the state as a role model copied
by the World Bank, Federal government and other international bodies.

Mrs. Adegboyega stated that with the rate of unemployment flying around, the government cannot fully cater for the employment of
everyone in the state, but his empowerment policies can be
complemented, if as a youth, you do research, is creative and empower
yourself in what you enjoy doing and this will definitely build,
empower and engage you as a youth, as well as build the nation.

Emphasizing that education is key, she frowned at youths who refused
to take up any empowerment skill, but rather prefer to laze around doing nothing adding that when a youth has good character, acquires empowerment skill, keep good friends and models, has good reputation
and good leadership traits, he or she will be noticed.

She also stated that being a woman commissioner in the present government is a privilege, She then charged the students to impact
positively as future leaders by building on their skills She called on
stakeholders to partner with the government in eradicating poverty in the State by empowering youths, because this will save the future of
everyone.

Talking on child abuse, she advised everyone, particularly parents,
that they should not only focus on training the girls on how to run a home among others, but that they should also train the boys on how to manage a home and how to treat the girl child right by not abusing
her, because a stitch in time saves nine.

The Commissioner commended every participant of Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme for their steadfastness in their various beats such as Oyes,
OClean, Oyes Traffic marshal, Oyes Farm, O-Ambulance, Oyes Sherriff, ORLG among others.
