The Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland , Edo and Delta , Alhaji Khamis Olatunde Badmus has advised Muslim faithful to leverage on the opportunities provided by the Coronavirus pandemic to strengthen their economic base.
The business tycoon gave this advice in Osogbo on the Occasion of Eid-ul-fitr celebration.
Speaking after observing the 2-rakat prayer to end the 30-day ramadan fast along with his family members at his Osogbo GRA residence on Sunday, Alhaji Badmus said the COVID-19 pandemic will eventually turn a blessing rather than a curse to the world.
He charged Muslim s to tap into the business ideas created by the pandemic and venture into them.
According to him, the Post-Covid times will usher in better times for Nigerians and the entire world as the nation and citizenry would have embraced a “better normal” approach of service delivery , creativity and style.
The Muslim leader observed that already, meetings, lectures, interactions and even prayers are being held the world over through the virtual space with positive results.
He enjoined Muslims to leverage on the opportunities created by the pandemic by being innovative and creative to bring out products and services needed by their communities and humanity in order strengthen their economic base.
The Islamic icon also enjoined Muslims not to shed the virtues of piety ,faithfulness to Allah , sacrifice , spirit of giving , patience and perseverance which the Ramadan fast teaches.
Asiwaju Badmus said the post-covid era will usher in a ” better normal” way of thinking and doing things adding that Nigeria also tends to benefit from the new order if the people are committed to the new style.
The Alternate Chairman of the Osun State Palliative and Relief Committee on COVID-19 assured the people of Osun state that the committee headed by the GO Redeemed Christian Church of God , Pastor Enoch Adeboye is working hard to mobilise more funds, materials and resources to cushion the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on the vulnerable people of the state.
While commending Muslims for cooperating with Government on its measures to check the spread of the disease , Asiwaju Badmus urged Nigerians to follow the guidelines on social distancing and cleanliness in order not to contract the ailment
