Eid-il-Kabir: Osun Assembly Charges Muslims On Sacrifice, Love, Hope

The State of Osun House of Assembly under the leadership of Honourable Najeem Salaam has congratulated Muslims across the state on the celebration of the Eid-il-Kabir festival, with a charge that to exemplify the lessons of the season which are sacrifice, love, tolerance and hope.

In a statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye the Assembly said the unfolding events were enough to rekindle the hopes that with fervent prayers, better days lie ahead.

The Assembly which acknowledges the economic situation being currently experienced, said, the situation should inspire hope rather than pessimism.

Noting that a moment like this call for sober reflection on the part of all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity, religious and political sentiments, the statement said without looking back and correcting the mistakes of the past which has been haunting the nation’s economy, the country might not move forward.

According to the parliament, to achieve the feat more than ever before, particularly in Osun, the legislative arm of government has continued to put machinery in motion and strengthening its legislative activities towards ensuring that the people get the best in terms of dividends of democracy.

He said part of the measures by the parliament were passage of laws, strengthening of oversight functionsand ensuring good representation that have been having direct impact on the people of the state.

He said, the sacrifice, love, tolerance and hope exhibited by the people would be the encouraging factor that would assist those in the saddle to perform better and give their best to the benefit of the people across board.

It urges the people to be security conscious, especially at this period when criminals are prowling to unleash evil act on innocent citizens.

The parliament also emphasised the need for all residents of the state be optimistic and provide necessary support for the government.
