Dr. Ismail-Saka-Layonu, an All Progressive Congress(APC) Aspirants, has urged Muslim faithfuls not to forget the teachings of the holy month of Ramadan as they celebrate Eid-il-fitri.
Saka-Layonu, in a statement by his Media and Public Relations Assistant, Adewale Atoyese in Osogbo on Friday, described Ramadan as a month that comes with purity to purify other months of the year.
“I wish to congratulate all Muslim faithfuls across the world, particularly in Osun for God’s mercy which upheld us to fast, pray and offer other supplications to Allah.”
“As we celebrate the passage of the holy month, we must live our daily life as if everyday is Ramadan by allowing it’s teaching to be our guiding principle.”
“We must be guided by the spirit of love towards fellow men, giving to the needy and healthy neighborliness as brought to us by this holy month”, Saka-Layonu said.
Speaking on the forthcoming Sept. 22 gubernatorial election in the state, Saka-Layonu urged the the electorate and political gladiators not to act or made comments capable of causing violence, before, during and after the poll.
He also urged eligible voters to register and obtain their permanent voter cards
for them to perform their civic duty.
