A traditional ruler in Osun state, HRM Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude has called on Muslims to continue praying for the leaders of the country in order to have the interest of Nigerians at heart.
In his congratulatory to the Muslim faithful, the monarch also asked them to eschew greed and imbibe patriotism.
“I congratulate the Muslim faithful across the country for the successful completion of the 30-days Ramadan fast which I believe that the Almighty Allah has answered the prayers of individuals.
“As Muslim faithful across the country is basking in the euphoria of the celebration I want us to imbibe the spirit of patriotism for this country. This is the only way that Nigeria can get out of the mess of insecurity.
“Almighty Allah has ordained Eid-el-fitri period to be a time to call for his blessing on every facets of our life. So, it is hightime we needed to call on him for protection and the spirit of love to strive in this nation above all political, ethnical and religion affiliation.
“What will end the killings and menace in our country is the spirit of collective ownership of Nigeria and we should eschew greediness off our mindset.
“Let us all pray for leaders of this country for Allah to guide them in good discretion in leading the country to an enviable state,” the statement reads.
