A Gbongan-born Prince, Omooba Dotun Babayemi has charged Muslims to imbibe lessons that Eid el Kabir represents.
Felicitating with Muslims on this year’s Eid-el kabir celebration in a statement he issued on Thursday, Babayemi wished Muslim faithful in Osun West Senatorial District in particular, Osun state as a whole and Nigeria in general, the best of celebration.
He admonished them to imbibe the salient lessons of the festival and emulate the humility, act of keeping promises, perseverance, understanding and love exemplified by the life of Prophet Ibrahim.
Omooba Babayemi who noted that Prophet Ibrahim was ready to fulfill his earlier promise of sacrificing his only son to Allah, called on all and sundry to reflect the teachings of Id-el-Adha which center on keeping faith with God and total submission to His will.
Specifically, Babayemi urged his fellow politicians across the country to take a cue from Prophet Ibrahim’s selfless attitude by keeping to their electoral promises to the people, even when it is not convenient.
According to him, they should remember the words of Allah which remind and harp on piety as neither the meat, nor the blood of the animals that would be slaughtered reach Him.
He urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for an end to the Corona virus pandemic presently ravaging the whole world.
