As parts of efforts to tackle dearth of teachers in the state’s education sector, Osun State Government will soon commence recruitment of 2,500 teachers across the state.
This was disclosed by the State’s Commissioner of Education, Honourable Folorunsho Oladoyin when he was presenting the stewardship report on education under Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
At the maiden edition of “Apero” organised by the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation on Tuesday in Ikirun, the Commissioner said details of the recruitment would soon be made public.
Apero was designed to create a platform of interaction between the Governor and the people of Osun.
Explaining how the state government got to discover the need for recruitment, Oladoyin said the data gathered during the Governor’s “Thank You Tour” and the report of the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development’s assessment of the state showed that there was a dearth of teachers across the state.
To this end, he noted that Governor Oyetola had approved the employment of 2,500 teachers.
