The Charitable Youth for Nation Building Initiative (CYFNBI) in collaboration with Guildance Community Development Foundation and NUDOLA has empowered no fewer than 35 residents of Iwoland in Osun State with requisite tools and material to kick-start their businesses, AMILOADED reports.
The event which held at the Iwo City Hall yesterday tagged “Empowerment of People with Disabilities” and “Recognition of Celebrating Achievers”.
The beneficiaries were empowered with working tools such as sewing machines, shoe making machine and tools, pepper grinding machines while over 20 handicaps were given wheel chairs.
Among other items distributed include textbooks worth #500,000 for students; clothes, and presentation of cheque of N20,000.00 each to two individuals.
Speaking at the event, the National President of the Charitable Youth For Nation Building Initiative and Guildance Community Development Foundation who was also the Chief Host, Mr Kabiru Adeniyi Kulukulu, stated that the best craving of any man should be to be useful to his fellow human being.
The president stressed the need for humanitarianism as a way of assisting the government at all level in the fight against poverty as in the sustainable development goals.
He, however, enjoined all beneficiaries to effectively and efficiently put to use everything they benefited from the empowerment programme.
The event also witnessed the Maiden Edition of the CYFNBI Award which saw notable personalities being conferred with Award of Recognition.
Some of the awardees include Dr Mojeed Akintayo Adeniyi, Badru Lukman Oladehinde, Engineer Rafii Abubakre, Mr Olusola Akande, Alhaji Kamal Okunola Moshood (MKO), Alhaji Yusuf Olatunji, and Purlieu Estate Development Limited.
Dignitaries present at the event include His Imperial Majesty, the Oluwo of Iwoland Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1, Dr. Tijani Qosim and other notable sons and daughters of Iwoland.
