Court Remands 29-Year-Old Woman In Ilesha Prison Custody For Alleged Fraud In Osun

A 29- old- woman, Zacheaus Elizabeth has been arraigned before Osogbo magistrate court in Osun State for alleged fraud of 500,000.
Police arraigned Elizabeth on Thursday before Magistrate Mrs A. O Ajanaku on two count charge of fraud and stealing.
The prosecutor Inspector Jafani Muslim told the court that the accused committed the offense on May 25, 2018 at Temiloluwa Microfinance Bank in Osogbo.
Muslim explained that the defendant obtained the sum of 500,000 from one Fakunle Ibukun Grace with pretence of refunding the money back within one month.
Prosecutor said the defendant also stolen 500,000 belonging to the complainant.
He argued that the offense contravene section 421 and section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charge alleged against her.
The Defense Counsel Mr G. C Chidozie applied for the bail of the accused person in the most liberal and affordable terms.
The magistrate Mrs A. O Ajanaku granted the defendant bail in the sum of 200,000 with two sureties.
She ruled that one of the sureties must be a landed property and evidence of C of O who must be a blood relation.
Both sureties are to sworn to affidavit of means produce three passports photographs and must be tax payer and the address to be verified by police.
The case was adjourned to December 12 for hearing.
The accused was remanded in Ilesha prison custody when she could not perfect the bail conditions given to her.
