Court Jailed 23-year old man Two Years For Stealing

A chief magistrate court in Osogbo, Capital of Osun State has on Monday sentences a 23-year – old man, Abdukabir Adamu to Two years imprisonment in an Ilesha prison custody for stealing building materials valued 9.2m.
The accused was arraigned on Tuesday before Magistrate Modupe Awodele on two count charge of stealing which he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Inspector Oladoye Joshua told the court that the accused and others at large committed offense of felony to wit stealing sometimes in December, 2017 at Osogbo
He explained that the defendant stolen building materials valued 9.2million property of Cletus.
According to prosecutor the offence is contrary to section 516 and punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2002.
Inpt Joshua tendered the statement of the accused to the court and Mark as exhibit.
The prosecutor also told the court that the defendant (Adamu) has sold the property out before he was arrested.
The accused having no legal representation admitted to the fact.
The magistrate Mrs Modupe Awodele while ruling convict Adamu on the two out charge.
She therefore sentences him to six calendar months on count one and two years imprisonment in count two without no option of fine.
Mrs Awodele also ruled that the sentences should start from January when the accused has been detained in police custody.
