Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa in Oriade local government area of Osun State, Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya the second has described Christmas as a season of joy, redemption and one that rekindles hope, as well as inspires possibilities in the future.
This, the foremost traditional ruler said, should be brought to bear by Christians and Nigerians in general by celebrating Christmas with high sense of optimism and faith in the redemption brought by the birth of Jesus Christ.
In him message to felicitate with Christians in Erinmo Ijesa and Osun State as a whole on the celebration of Christmas, Oba Arowotawaya noted that the yuletide season offered opportunity for us as a nation to seek peace, harmony, exercise love to one another and pray fervently.
He opined that the season should strengthen the resolve of Nigerians to seek the face of God and follow the path of righteousness for economic recovery and social rejuvenation.
Noting that the teaching of Christmas celebration, focused on love, which informed the birth of Christ as a gift from God to save the world from sin, he called for sacrifice, prayers and practical demonstration of love among the citizenry.
Oba Arowotawaya congratulated Christians on the celebration and advised that they should celebrate with caution and be security conscious during the period.
Meanwhile Oba Odunayo Ajayi will in his usual tradition host over one thousand Erinmo children to the annual Xmas Children FUNFAIR party on Christmas day
