More Aspirants are making declaration in the over delayed Bassa/JosNorth federal constituency election. Hon. Joseph Abbey Aku, a serving Commissioner in the Lalong Rescue administration has come out to contest for the Federal seat.
In a chat with our Correspondent, the Commissioner revealed that, he is the only Candidate guaranteed to win the seat. That, he did not just make an empty declaration but was prompted by the Christians Association (CAN) president and the entire executives on the Plateau.
According to him, the CAN president, conveyed the Governor’s approval for my involvement.
The CAN executives conjunction with the Governor, H:E Dr. Bar. Simon Bako Lalong and 10 of the most influential members of the State Executive led by the SSG and Hon. Yakubu Ditti insisted that I’m the only Aspirant that CAN, can trust.
Our correspondent asked him to note the constitution of the Constituency being both Christians and Muslims and why his emphasis on CAN?.
His response was that, if the above heavy weights in the State are behind him, you should note that, your observation amounts to ignorance.
More so, I appointed all the APC Party executives in both the Wards & Local Government Congresses. I virtually appointed the Bassa Local Government Executive Chairman, of which I could have nominated even a Goat as a chairman and would have still won. I can assure you that my candidature is a must win. Sir, Most People of the Constituency Particularly Tudun Wada Kabong in JosNorth where you served as a Councillor and even others from your people in Bassa LGA are complaining that, you are very very arrogant, disrespectful, you lie alot and very stingy.
How do you reconcile these negative images with CAN insisting on you? Well, I don’t want to comment on those personal opinions, all I know is that, the majority click on the Plateau and Bassa are for me, those opinions don’t matter. Sir. Who do you think is your biggest threat in the contest? I don’t see any one, elections are won and lost depending on who is behind you. Finally, you have not resigned from your position as a Commissioner, don’t you see yourself as abusing the Trust of the Governor and your people? I don’t want want to respond to that, but just note my narrative on why I’m contesting, if they can, we also, CAN. Thank you.
