Ataoja, Oluwo, Baderinwa, Others For Community Journalism & Distinguished Awards Festival

The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Larooye ll, Oluwo of Iwo Empire, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1; and Olowu of Kuta are part of the royal fathers expected to grace this year’s edition of Community Journalism and Distinguished Service Awards Festival.

The event will hold on July 5, 2018 at the Royal Spring Holiday Inn, Osogbo at 10:00am.

Part of the activities slated for the programme include a public lecture to be delivered by the Osun state Commissioner For Information and Strategy, Hon. Adelani Baderinwa while a veteran broadcaster, Prince Akolade Alabi would present Keynote address.

The lecture will be centred on the Roles of Social Media/Blog Journalism in Nigeria’s Democratization Process, while members of the public and entire media community are expected to be part of the event.

The Chief Executive Officer of DeMoon Media Links and Editor-In-Cheif of the NewMoon Magazine,  Mukhtar Abiodun Ajelogbon who will on that same day be celebrating his 10 years in active journalism stated this while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on Tuesday.

He also said one of the major parts of this festival is CJD Award presentation to a few selected Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their various callings.

These potential award recipients include Queen Channel Akanbi, the Queen of Iwo Empire as Outstanding Queen of the Year; Oluwatoyin Yusuf of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) as Best English News Caster of the Year and Mofeemporium, a business tycoon from Lagos.

Others are Freeman Idegun of Lagos Raypower FM as Radio Personality of the year, Olateju Adunni of Blazon Magazine as Outstanding Youth; Sidmach Technology from Lagos; Supt. Adeagbo Adekilekun of Sokoto Police Headquaters as Patriotic Officer; Adabanija Qomarudeen as Social Media Personality; Chief Taye Ajibola as Community Leader; Al-hidayah Comprehensive College, DemoSports of Rave 91.7 FM among others.

Ajelogbon also said that the launching of the special edition of the NewMoon Magazine will form part of the program to inspire qualities and rewarde excellence.

Other dignitaries expected for the event include government Government functionaries, veteran Journalists and eminent personalities.

Osun Assembly Deputy Speaker, Hon. Akintunde Adegboye will be the father of the day with the State of Osun Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs Titi-Laoye Tomori as Mother of the day; Osun APC Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun as Chairman, the Osun Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Ajibola Basiru as Special guest of honour while Hon. Wasiu Adebayo representing Olorunda State Constituency is the Chief Launcher, and Alhaja Kudirat Nafiu as Chairperson of the occasion among other dignitaries.
