Arowotawaya Remembers Late Mother In Style

A galaxy of royal fathers numbering over 50,business moguls and well wishers from far and near stormed the Christ Apostolic church Oke Isegun district headquarters, Erinmo Ijesa last week to identify with the Arowotawaya royal family in the course of remembering their matriarch, Yeye oba Sabaina Sijuwola Ajayi who joined the saints triumphant last year.

A special rendition by the church choir was a tribute of its kind,x-raying a life well spent of the Yeyeoba of Erinmo Ijesa.
In the presence of who is who that graced the one year remembrance service,a robust citation of Yeye Oba Sijuwola Ajayi was presented amidst accolades.

In his sermon titled “The Essence of Thanksgiving” ,Pastor Matthew Olowoniyi noted that human being are created to always appreciate God and bless his name.

Noting that the late Yeye oba of Erinmo Ijesa was a devout christian who was honoured with spiritual positions,the cleric maintained that she lived a life worthy of emulation,hence the need for her children to all appreciate God in her life.
Pastor Olowoniyi described the death of Yeyeoba Sabaina Ajayi as not only a collosal loss to the church,but Erinmo Ijesa community as a whole.
He implored individuals to emulate her virtues.

Speaking on behalf of the Arowotawaya royal family,the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa Oba(Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi Arowotawaya the second,described the late Yeye oba as mother in a million,ever humble but disciplined creature who was always concerned with the well being if her children.
Oba Arowotawaya the second described the death of Yeye oba Sabaina Sijuwola Ajayi painful but took solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled life.

Guest were later hosted to a Civic reception at the Arowotawaya Court yard Erinmo Ijesa.

If you were looking for a woman of substance, a strict disciplinarian, a mother indeed, a wife to envy and an epitome of elegance whose spoken and written English is Queen style, beauty and class look no further than for Pastor (Mrs) Sijuwola Ajayi the Yeye Oba of Erinmo Land.

Born sometimes in 1940, widely traveled, a retired teacher and educationist who was actively engaged in private business till her death. She was well connected within the top echelon of Nigerian military having taught some of the children of the high and mighty in Nigerian including those of two former Nigerian Heads of State at the Command Children’s School in Ikeja Cantonment and before then in Kaduna.

A stickler for discipline and excellence, Mama was a caring, honest mother, grand mother and dutiful wife who dots over her children living long to witness the crowning of her first son as Kabiyesi Elerinmo of Erinmo land some years ago.

Yeye Oba is royalty on all sides, by birth and by marriage, she is a grand daughter of the late High Chief Sapetu Aloba (the traditional prime minister of Igbara-Oke and late High Chief Ejemu Daniel Atere, the 3rd in command to the his Royal Highness the Olowa of Igbara-Oke and was happily married to the late Asiwaju of Erinmo Ijesa Chief (Dr) Joseph Olubowale Ajayi the icon of the AROWOTAWAYA Royal lineage of  Erinmo,whose son later became King Arowotawaya II.

Highly religious, mama is a certified pastor in training from the College of Divinity, Lagos, a Deaconess of the CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH  in Erinmo-Ijesha, a Most Senior mother Israel/Matron Queen Sheba’s Band of the C&S Movement Church Kingsland District, Oke-Oba, Lagos, Matron Elizabeth’s BAND C&S Church Movement Ewu Tuntun, Matron Mary’s Band St James Spiritual Grace Church, AREA COMMANDER CHAPLAIN FELLOWSHIP OF NIGERIA INC and in recognition of her service to the Christian community she was conferred with the title OTUN EGBE AYA BISOBU of the ST PAUL’S ANGLICAN CHURCH IGBARA-OKE, ONDO STATE, NIGERIA.


A woman of many parts, She was Founding President of the Prestige Social Club of Igbara-Oke, Matron of Facoys Sisters Club of Lagos, Matron Ifesowapo social club of Igbara-Oke, Matron Road Safety club Ifedore chapter.

Together with her husband she was blessed with six children (all of whom are graduates and professionals including lawyers, accountants, etc living in various parts of the world) and several Grand Children.
Up to the time of her departure, she occupied herself with praying interceding for her children, communities and the nation; attending religious, social and traditional occasions that involved her communities and families..

May God continue to grant her eternal rest. Amen.
