The Aremo of Offa, Professor Mohammed Oyawoye has lauded Governor Rauf Aregbesola for the infrastructure development bequeathed on the state by his administration.
Prof Oyawoye stated that despite the financial challenges, Aregbesola remained undaunted in transforming the state and leaving a good legacy behind, just as he praised the governor for his good characters which always portray the omoluabi ethos.
He spoke on Monday during a courtesy visit to the governor at the State Government House, Osogbo.
According to the university don, there is no other state in Nigeria that can be compared to Osun in terms of infrastructure development, stressing that Osun is a model to other states apart from Lagos in terms of infrastructures.
The first professor of theology in Africa said: “This is an opportunity for me to congratulate you on your achievement in Osun, despite the economic recession that hit the country.
“You have done what nobody thought was possible in Osun, on our way here, what we saw was amazing. I congratulate you immensely. I want to sincerely thank you for sharing in our pain during the recent attack on our town, it shows you are a loving governor.”
Responding, Aregbesola noted that the bad occurrence which happened in Offa on April 5, was a loss to all not only Offa, calling on all and sundary to ensure that such does not happen again.
Aregbesola then prayed to God to put an end to such occurrence and grant the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
“I just want people to know that what happened did not befall Offa alone but the entire Yoruba race. So it behoves on us to all rally round to ensure that such occurrence does not happen again”, Aregbesola stated.
