Alhaja Basirat Okanlawon, the mother of a former Spokesperson of the Minister of interior and former Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, is dead.
Alhaja Basirat Okanlawon died at aged 84.
The former Director Bureau of Communication and strategy in the office of the Governor in a statement by the Ally of the Okanlawon family, Mr. Kunle Alabi said Madam Okanlawon died in the afternoon of yesterday.
He stated that Semiu Okanlawon is consoled in the fact that the Matriarch of the family led a fulfilled life and left behind legacies worth of emulation.
Semiu Okanlawon wrote on his official Facebook account: “Holding her hands motionless… Watching her eyes close finally,
Never to be opened again. It pleased Allah (SWT) to recall my Mom exactly 6:33pm, February 15, 2021.
“O Allah, forgive [my mom Alhaja Basirat Okanlawon ] and elevate her station among those who are guided. Send her along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and her, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for her her grave and shed light upon her in it.”
Burial of the remains of madam Okanlawon will hold today February 16th 4PM at her residence in Odunaye compound Oke-Ola, Iwo according to Islamic right.
