The Osun State Chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), has called off its two days industrial action after the State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola intervenention.
Members of the association had embarked on strike on Friday to protest against officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly extorting them in the state.
Oyetola held a meeting with IPMAN officials led by the association’s Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Dele Tajudeen at Iragbiji, on Sunday where he assured the association that he would constitute a taskforce to look into the alleged extortion of its members by NSCDC officials.
The Governor promised to settle the disagreement in the interest of the public just as Oyetola urged members of the public to remain calm and desist from panicking.
Briefing journalists shortly after their meeting with the governor, the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Dele Tajudeen commended Governor Oyetola for his excellent decision and prayed God to give him more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the State of Osun.
Tajudeen, who announced that the industrial action has been called off, assured that all the filling stations would resume operations immediately.
