Alayegun Of Ode-Omu Buried According To Islamic Rites As Chiefs, Subjects Pay Tributes (Photos)

The  traditional ruler of Ode-omu, in Ayedade local government area of Osun state, the Alayegun of Ode-Omu, Oba Lamidi Oke who died on Tuesday Tuesday has been given final burial rites according to Islamic rites.

 

The monarch who ascended the throne on May, 2012, joined his ancestors on the 4th of February 2020 at the age of 95.

Oba Oke reigned for eight years.

The late monarch was buried under the Islamic rites in his hometown after series of prayer processions.

 

AMILOADED correspondent who visited Ode-Omu disclosed that the deceased’s children, chiefs and subjects paid tributes at the burial ceremony.

 

They described the late monarch as accommodating and friendly to both young and old regardless of background.

 

The mourners said Ode-omu witnessed laudable progress and development during the reign of Oba Oke.

 

They described the transition of the monarch as a great loss to the indigines of the community, the chiefs as well as the Muslim societies and the state at large.

 

Late Oba Lamidi who was the ‘Giwa Adini’ in the state before his transition was described as a traditional ruler who advocated religious tolerance of all faiths, as well as peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians.
