Activist Demand Registration Of Socialist Party Of Nigeria

A human rights activist Comrade Waheed Saka has call on Independent National Electoral Commission to register Socialist Party of Nigeria without further delay. Comrade Saka disclosed this at a Human rights advocacy programme for women, children and less privileged organised by Vice Chairman House Committee on Human Rights, Rt. Hon Mojeed Olujinmi Alabi in collaboration with National Human Rights Commission.

The advocacy programme which was held in Ejigbo, Osun state had representatives of women groups, people with special needs and students in attendance.

Making his remarks, Comrade Waheed Saka who represented the National Coordinator of Committee for Democracy and Rights of the People, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, appealed to National Human Rights Commission to join the people as they demands for the registration of Socialist Party of Nigeria as an ideological alternative party to the many capitalist driven party in Nigeria.

In his response, Director of Legal Service of National Human Rights Commission, Mr Olaniyi Omodara assured the people  of the commission’s commitment to his mandates to protect and defend human rights in Nigeria with due diligence and international instruments and best practices on people’s rights.

While reacting, the facilitator of the programme , who is also the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Human Rights, Rt. Hon. Mojeed Alabi appreciates his constituents for coming out en mass for the advocacy programme that with the turnout of the people, there is truly a victory in the horizon as we chat part to consolidating our democracy.

The high point of the advocacy programme was the donation of cash empowerment for 10 physically challenged participants by a childhood friend of Rt. Hon. Mojeed Alabi, Prince Paul Adelabu.
