EndSARS: Police Take Over Strategic Places In Osun

The operatives of the police force have placed its personnel at strategic places in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, over the planing an End SARS memorial protest to mark a year some Nigerian youths were allegedly killed by soldiers at the Lekki toll plaza in Lagos.

AMILOADED reports that the youths, who were protesting against extrajudicial killing, bad governance at Lekki tollgate.

Some youths have begun the memorial protest in Abuja, Akure, Ibadan and Lagos while there have been reports of arrests.

However, in Osun, our correspondent gathered that the police have taken over Ola-Iya, Old-Garage, Oke-Fia, Kaleyemi, and other places where protests were held in the past.

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, who was monitoring the operatives at Old-garage, Osogbo, said there is no street protest in Osogbo.

“Government has given those who want to mark the EndSARS memorial a venue to do the review of the event. There have been no arrests in Osun so far and I don’t pray there will be any,” he said.
