The former Deputy-Governor of Osun State, Sen. Iyiola Omisore has canvassed that wealthy, philanthropist and good spirited peoples in the society should partner with hospitals to provide the needful services to the populace because the existing infrastructures put in place in the 70’s when the country’s population was less than 50 million is what is still in use now that our population is over 180 million.
Omisore stated this at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife while presenting gifts to in-patients and settling outstanding debts of detained patients some who had been certified okay since April, May 2016 but cannot pay so as to go home.
Sen. Omisore who arrived the Teaching Hospitals at 7:00 am on new year day, was received by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospitals, Prof. Victor Adetiloye and others top management staff.
He visited all the wards that have patients and speaks words of hope to them.
Nobody wishes to celebrate the first day of the year in an Hospitals, but because of situation beyond control.
Even, Doctors and Nurses tending to patients who have loved to be with their families but are here because of the nature of their jobs.
He was particularly touched by a patient whose left leg was amputated and his right
leg seriously injured based on the accident he had with a trailer whose brake had failed and rammed into his car on Akure-Ife Road.

implored spirited peoples to partner with the Hospitals on Public Private Partnership (PPP) in order for them to keep delivering on their services.
Appreciating Dr. Omisore for his gesture by paying outstanding bills of detained patients and rejoicing with those hospitalized on the first day of the year, Prof. Victor Adetiloye, Chief Medical Director, OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, said more of Sen. Omisore’s caliber is needed in the society to help the underprivileged.
For instance, many of the detained patients have been certified okay since April, May last year but don’t have money to pay. Many are waiting for today because they know Sen. Omisore will be here to pay their outstanding bills.
Adetiloye said, this Hospitals is international because of major feat we are recording here.
We have successfully performed fourteen open heart surgery( first of its kind in the country). But the Hospitals needs new building that will makes it look attractive.
He thanked Sen. Omisore for the assistance rendered to the Hospitals during his tenure as Senator of the Federal Republic where many buildings facilities dotted the Hospitals.
Also, Sen. Iyiola Omisore also visited Covenant Orphanage & Welfare Homes in Moro, Ife North LG where he gave them gifts items.
The yearly visit to Hospitals and Orphanage by Sen. Iyiola Omisore started in the year 2008.
