A man identified as the paymaster of the Ondo State House of Assembly has been reportedly caught with millions of Naira.
According to a report by Daily Post, the paymaster was reportedly caught while trying to cart away with a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag filled with an undisclosed amount of money on Friday, January 28, 2017.
The news is coming barely six hours after the speaker of the Assembly, Jumoke Akindele was suspended for alleged fraud.
The report further said the paymaster confessed to have been acting on the instruction of the suspended speaker, Rt Hon. Akindele.
He reportedly said further that the suspended Speaker had ordered him to bring the money to her residence.
The suspension of the speaker is as a result of an alleged fraud to the tune of N15million.
After her suspension by 14 members of the Assembly, Malachi Coker, member representing Ilaje 2 constituency, was sworn in by the clerk as the acting Speaker.
