The Oluwo of iwo Kingdom, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi sincerely appreciate all individual, groups, cooperate bodies that have contributed in one way or another to the ongoing rehabilitation of the abandoned Iwo-Osogbo road.
See his official statement,
You’ve all made it known to the world the importance of self help project. You’ve shown it to the world that there are much individuals, groups, can do to compliment the activities of the government. Self help projects predated the advent of even government. Government cannot do everything for us as at when due. We must come together and help the government in our own little way.
I want to applaud the efforts of various individuals and group both in cash and kind. Alh Moshood Adeoti, Pastor Akande Baba Àbíye, Alh Gafar Alani, Alhaji Posi Adiatu, Bowen University Management, Ileogbo Development Front, all traditional rulers in Iwoland, the good people of Telemu, Asamu, Osuntedo and other communities along the road, Iwo Youths Foundation and others too numerous to mention. You all made this project to become an easy task. Only God can reward you accordingly.
We are all happy the road has become a busy one yet again after being abandoned for many years. Business activities has resumed in full along the road and our people are smiling for putting live back to their various communities. The importance of this road can not be overemphasized. We’ve all made history together.
There are still more work to be done on the road to make it more motorable for everyone. The bigger part of the work has been done but there is still more work to be done.
We’ve done it before and we can still do it again. There are number of portion of the road that still need our attention. We must all come together to get it done. We must not get tired in this noble cause.
This is calling on all traditional rulers along the road, individuals, groups and organizations, cooperate entities to come together once again and finish the beautiful work we’ve started last years. It’s imperative to get the remaining part of this road done before the raining season. If these most challenging parts of the road is not done, it will render all our earlier work useless when we eventually enter the raining season.
Let’s get this done again. Collectively we can make it happen.
