The Ejigbo Local Government Area Students Association (ELGASA) on Saturday organised a program in commemorate this year’s Democracy Day, AMILOADED reports.
The program hosted by the president of the association, Com. Olaoye Abel, was titled, ‘The Roles Of Youth In The Entrenchment Of Democracy In Nigeria, Youth And Wealth; The Legitimate Ways Of Making Money Without Taking Decore In Criminal Act.’
The guest lecturer, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, in his speech, emphasized on value chain in the society. According to him, “the worth of man should not be measured by his wealth but by the value he possess.”
Another guest lecturer, Mr Faruk Abass, enjoined students to learn vocational skills with their education.
The lectures were followed by a panel discussion held between comrade Ashiru Jelil, Adeoye Akinwunmi, among others. Contemporary issues affecting the society were later discussed extensively.
Prizes were later awarded to students, who added their contribution towards the event.
The program, however, came to an end with vote of thanks by Miss Oladosu Itunu
Dignitaries present at the event include, Sulaiman Lukman, Miss Oladosu Itunu, Comrade Gbenro Josiah, ELGASA National President, Comrade Olaoye Abel; Mr Dayo Hamzat, Mr Faruk Abass, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel with students representing AES High School, LA Secondary School Ita Ejigbo, Excel Model College, among others.
