A governorship aspirant in Osun state, Dr. Kayode Oduoye, has appealed to Nigerians to use the major lesson of Easter as a guide towards re-building the nation.
Oduoye who made the appeal in a press release made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday called for more sacrifice and commitment from the ruling class, saying that a little sacrifice from spending on frivolity can assist in building the country.
He noted that Jesus Christ left his splendor and glory to come in the form of man so that sinners can be saved, adding that the persecution, arrest, trial and crucifixion are the greatest sacrifices mankind ever witnessed.
He also attributed the current state of the nation to greed and self- centredness, and averred that, if people in positions of authority have made sacrifice their watchword, many Nigerians will queue behind them and make the nation great.
Oduoye then congratulated Christians on this year’s celebration of Easter and encouraged them to be happy in spite of the prevailing situation, knowing full well that better days are ahead, if all Nigerians start to sacrifice for the betterment of the country.
