Buhari Aminu has emerged the third millionaire in the on-going Skye Bank Millionaire Reward promo Season II.
The 3rd draw which held at 1, Ibo Road, Sabon Gari (Bata roundabout), Kano on Thursday, was graced by the Tafidan Kano Hakimin, Alhaji Mahamuda Ado Bayero who applauded the bank for its commendable efforts in encouraging savings culture in Nigeria.
Traders, artisans, students, businessmen and women in the city all trooped out to participate in the electronic draw which saw Buhari Aminu, a petty trader that banks with the Ibrahim Taiwo branch of the bank in Kano emerged as the 3rd millionaire; while over 30 other customers also won other cash and gift prizes.
Expressing his delight after the winners’ cheque presentation, Alhaji Mahamuda Ado Bayero, Tafidan Kano Hakimin, who doubles as District Head, Fagge Local Government, said “We are not surprised that a bank like yours is rewarding customers for keeping their monies with you. To say the least, this is what we need at this moment in our country. We need to save more for better tomorrow and we are happy Skye Bank is taking the lead in this case.”
An excited Buhari could not hold back his joy when his name was announced as the mega winner of the coveted prize. According to the new millionaire, “I initially thought it was a scam when someone called me that I won 1 Million naira because I did not play any raffle draw. But today, I believed, when the cheque was presented to me. I could not believe myself that I am a millionaire just like that. I pray Allah to continue to bless Skye Bank. I am now an apostle of the bank from today.”
10 customers won the sum of N100,000 and N50,000 respectively; while 20 other customers won N20,000 each. Also, gift items such as table top fridge, generator, table top gas cookers, mobile phones, blenders, recharge cards and table top gas cooker were also given to other winners as consolation prizes.
Ayodele Olojede, Head, Small Business Group of Skye Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to continuously reward its new and existing customers that have imbibed the culture of saving despite these austere times.
“As a bank, we are committed to continually satisfy the needs of our customers as well as empower and encourage a savings culture in them, through schemes like this and provide opportunities for them to establish small businesses with limited capital provided”, she said while commenting on why the bank kicked off the season 2 of the scheme.
“The scheme focuses on retail banking that is anchored on the premise of building a long lasting relationship with our customers based on trust as well as supporting the financial inclusion drive of the CBN so as to bring a lot more people into the financial system and the formal economy”, Mrs. Olojede said.
“Reach for the Skye Millionaire Reward” promo is a year-long initiative, with series of monthly raffle draws during which more and more winners will continue to emerge.
It was endorsed by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and representatives of the Commission are always present at the draws to ensure transparency in all processes.
Since it started, the Reach for the Skye’ Millionaire Reward promo has since produced over 37 millionaires; 48 customers have won N250,000 and over a 120 customers have won N100,000 each plus other household consolation prizes.
