As part of measures to check incessant incidents of armed robbery along Osogbo -Iwo road, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale-Akanbi, Telu 1 has promised financial reward to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of criminal acts.
Oba Akanbi, who stated this while recieving in his palace in Iwo, the leadership of Osun state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, said bounty hunting is used efficiently in advanced countries to tackle crime.
He said N300,000.00 has been set aside for whoever that provides the information.
It would be recalled that a traveller was reportedly killed a few days ago while several others lost money and valuables to armed robbers operating on the Osogbo-Iwo road.
Assuring that any information given would be treated with utmost confidentiality, the Oluwo said anyone with relevant information that can lead to the arrest of the criminal gang operating on the road should contact him on his mobile phone with the number: 07081374079
“We need information to nip the incessant cases of armed robbery on that road in the bud. Anyone with useful hints will be rewarded with the minimum of #300,000.
“Whoever has information about the criminal gang should come to the palace or call me on phone. I am assuring, such person’s identity will be protected. If anything happens to him or her on the said issue, I should be held responsible”, Oluwo said.
On the allegation that he was dancing infront of Chief Abiola Ogundokun’s house to provoke him, Oluwo described the allegation as ‘mischievous’, saying the incident shown in the video being circulated online, never took place near Chief Ogundokun’s house but in front of his palace.
