An Osun born politician Hon Bade Falade has saluted the gallant effrontery of the Nigeria police force in the unfortunate incidence that occurred in the city of Iwo on the 6th of June 2017, he as well commiserated with the good people of Iwoland and particularly the paramount ruler of the ancient city of Iwo Oba Adewale Akanbi (Telu 1) on the unfortunate incidence that occurred few days back.
The senatorial aspirant in the coming Osun-West senatorial district bye-election in a statement he released today said he “was bewildered by the unfortunate and scary event that happened in Iwo on the 6th day of June, it was an event we hope never happen again in our lifetime”.
Speaking further, the lawmaker said he had a close shave with death on that day as well.
“I myself was lucky not to be a victim of that unfortunate event because I was having a meeting near the bank with some associates. I commiserate with the good people of Iwo Land and the family of the men of the Nigerian police that were murdered by this evil men, may God in his infinite mercy comfort the family and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.”
“In all this we enjoin the Federal Government to help improve our security force, anyone that witnessed that unfortunate event would know these criminals had access to some weapons that looked stronger than the ones our security force had, securing the lives and properties of Nigerians should be a responsible government’s duty, we hope for a quick response on this.”
He equally berated the state government of Osun for the insecurity that pervades the state.
“The state government led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola purchased some security apparatus with taxpayers money some years back, it included a chopper and some Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) but the chopper was nowhere to help our security on ground that day, I’m asking the government on behalf of Iwo people on the state of the helicopter because if it was available, the robbery that lasted for more than 40mins, might have been truncated, I hope we get a response soon on this soon.”
He concluded by saluting the gallant effort of the security force who died in the course of protecting the nation on that day. “Once again, I’m offering my condolence to the families of the gallant men of our security force that fell, may the good Lord which we all serve console the family”
