As activities for the July 8 Osun West Senatorial bye election gather momentum, aspirants on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State have assured the party of their resolve to support whoever wins the party ticket.
In a Statement obtained from the media office of the party in Osogbo, Friday, two contestants in the party, Col. Olayiwola Falabi (Rtrd) and Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi assured leadership of the party of their unflinching loyalty, wherever the pendulum swings on the candidacy.
According to the release, Senator Akinlabi while speaking with newsmen at the party office on Friday, reminded the Adagunodo led PDP of his undying love for the party through the thick and thin, even when nobody had any premonition of any Senatorial vacancy to jostle over at this time in the State.
According to the former Minister for Youth and Sports, anyone with sound history of his past activities in the PDP would attest to the fact that, he’s never given to rocking the boat against the ultimate interest of the party.
He also assured residents of Osun West Senatorial District in the State of quality legislations to better their living standards, pledging to make a worthy representative for them at the Senate if elected.
On his part, Col Olayiwola Falabi called on newsmen to put it on record that he will always continue to discharge his responsibilities to the party either he emerged flagbearer of the party or not. According to him, he’s not a person know with a do or die trait despite his military background, and therefore, reiterated his total support to any eventual winner.
He pledged his economic expertise no bare at the Senate if elected. The Ikire born retired Colonel also called on residents of Osun State to continue to support PDP in Osun State, in order to bring the State back to life with a much needed economic turn around.
Earlier, head of the National Screening Panel, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, had assured the aspirants of fairness and democratic ideals which PDP was known for over the years, pointing out that, the topmost priority of everyone now is to secure victory for the party in the forthcoming bye election.
Other members of the panel include, Chief Jide Damazio, Mr Tony Bernard, Hon Adijat Adeleye and Prince Biyi Porous, who serves as the panel secretary.
