Breaking News: 3rd Time In 2 months, Osun Doctors Hit Street In Protest, Demand 22 Months Unpaid Salaries

Doctors in the employment of Osun state government for the third time in the last two months, staged a peaceful protest in Osogbo, Osun state capital, demanding 22 months arrears of unpaid salaries.

As early as 7am, the protesters carrying placards with various inscriptions, asking government to pay them their salaries, had assembled in the premises of Lautech Teaching Hospital, Osogbo and peacefully marched to Olaiya Junction.

The doctors on May 4 and June 1 had staged similar walk around the state capital to protest unpaid salaries.

It would be recalled that twice last week, pensioners in the state were in streets protesting unpaid pension and gratuities by the state government, while UniOsun students on Wednesday shattered peace of the state capital, as they protested against incessant abduction and killing of their colleagues by ritualists.
