The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo has disclosed that 2021 will be a year of milestone significance, adding that by coming together as neighbours and putting the state first, “we will build a brighter tomorrow for everyone.”
Hon. Olasoji stated this in his New Year message signed and forwarded to pressmen in Osogbo, the capital of the state, Friday.
The statement reads in part, “this is a good moment to look back at the past year and forward to a new one. Without a doubt, the past was a package of troubles from all fronts. From pandemic to unprecedented economic crisis and acute suffering, several unexplainable troubles hit the world while in Nigeria we experienced escalation of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents and armed banditry.”
“We were also confronted by geometrical growth of menace, especially, in the North East, expanding rapidly into virtually all the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT with Osun state having her terrible share of kidnapping, ritual killings, Fulani Herdsmen attacks, #EndaSARS protest crises and COVID-19 letdown.
“In all, for reasons best known to God, He keeps us safe from all the troubles. Indeed, He is a loving God. He definitely has a need for our lives for keeping us safe and that reason will soon manifest in significant folds. God is with us. So, we can and must do everything possible to make 2021 a better year for all.”
“Meanwhile, with all sense of responsibility and gratitude to God, I acknowledge both the gains and disappointment of the past year. Despite some odds and harsh realities, distinguished men and women of valour, compassion and wisdom stood by the truth and insist that nobody is above the law. You are greatly appreciated, for protecting not just me from detractors but at the same time, for protecting our collective interests as men and women of honour and integrity.”
“I thank you most sincerely and congratulate the good people of Osun and the entire stakeholders, leaders and valued members of our great Party on the occasion of the New Year. By the grace of God and with your support, we will not only overcome the odds and other battles ahead, we will also reposition our dear state in no distant tomorrow and pave the way for our people to live a life full of peace, security and prosperity.”
“Being a people oriented party, as we ring in the New Year, keeping an eye squarely on the future, we have renewed our determination to work towards a better PDP and Osun. My prayer to God is to uphold us all and make all our aspirations for keeping hope with PDP possible and fruitful. I wish you all a blessed and prosperous new year of harvest and milestone significance, with physical and spiritual upliftment plus unmerited favours and abundance of success. Happy New Year.”
