Fakunle High School ’95 Alumni Celebrate 25 Years Anniversary In Grand Event, Award Teachers, Dignitaries

 

In celebration of their 25 years anniversary, the 1995 Alumni members of the Fakunle Comprehensive high school (FCHS) held a Two-day event in Osun to commemorate their graduation from the school.

AMILOADED had earlier reported that the ‘95 set of alumni led by Mr George Martins, the current president of the association had prior to the grand event donated sets of internet enabled computers to the school.

The alumni also held sensitization and reorientation talks with the students while pledging better and continuous support to their prestigious alma-mata.

During the event, Mr Bewaji Kehinde, the chairman of the 25th-anniversary planning committee while delivering his opening speech expressed his belief that the anniversary will avail alumni members the opportunity to interact, share visions, dreams, and encourage one another as sailing through the waters of life continues in their different endeavours, especially in a dwindling economy like Nigeria.

At the kick-off of the day two event, the programme ushered back memories of the school anthem as well as the anthem of Nigeria and Osun state as attendees recited the anthems like they are still students of the school.

The FCHS dance crew, amongst other side attractions in the cause of the event, did come as major relieve and entertainment.

The theme of the Silver Jubilee celebration is “Living in contemporary Nigeria: Values Horizon in 25 years”.

Some members of the Alumni association while speaking with Amiloaded TV said the school has moulded their life and shaped their orientation as it concerns the future ahead.

Mr George Martins Olufemi, the 1995 alumni set president recounted in his speech how the set started off as a mix of students from notable primary schools in Osogbo and then evolved into coverts and overt relationship which has firmed up into families today.

Commending the leadership and members of the 1995 set both in Nigeria and in the diaspora for continued support, the president highlighted some of the achievement of the association so far.

In recognition and commendation of the roles played in their various lives by teachers and other staff of the school, the Alumni presented various gifts to teachers of the 1995 set.

There was also the presentation of medals, lapel pins and plagues as awards to deserving dignitaries amongst the attendees.

On the day one of the events, during the commissioning of the internet-enabled computers, Mrs FA Daodu, the principal of the school, had described the gesture of the alumni as a perfectly done job stating the utmost importance of computer in education.

“The importance of computer in education cannot be overemphasized as it’s a key element that enhances learning, during the lockdown due to the Coronavirus, the students of Osun State kept learning,” she said.
