EndSARS Protest: NANS Reacts To Police Shooting Of LAUTECH Student In Ogbomoso

The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest has reacted as a student of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH ) whose name is yet to be identified was reportedly shot allegedly by the operatives of Police in the ENDSARS protest held in Ogbomoso today.

According to reports, the protest has become extremely violent with police firing gun to disperse protesters.

It was further learnt that more than 80% of LAUTECH students are involved in the protest.

The protesters after leaving the Palace of Soun moved to Area command and later headed to Owode where the incident occurred.

At the time of filling this report, effort to speak with DPO on the incident proved abortive.

Confirming the story, the Coordinator of NANS Southwest, Comrade Samuel Olawale Kappo debunked the viral report that a LAUTECH student was shot dead by the police.

According to him, “The truth is that a LAUTECH student was shot but not yet confirmed dead as at my last call and from what I know, it was only one student that was shot by the Police.

“Any sane person knows the police have done the wrong thing. We therefore condemn such act. “
