By Emmanuel Solomon, Osogbo

A group of youths in the All Progressives Congress, Osun State chapter, has endorsed the Governor of the state Adegboyega Oyetola for another 4 years.

The youths made this endorsement known while addressing a press conference at the Party secretariat in Osogbo on Thursday.

The group’s spokesperson, Aremo Adegboyega who is the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport to Governor Oyetola, said, “in three months now,  thus administration will clock two years. Hence,  the need to intensify efforts in good time, the task ahead of us is enormous and it is imperative for us to set out early to support the administration of Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola to ensure that the gains of Ilerioluwa is delivered to the state.”

He furthered that, “the party must also set the record straight over the recent package to cause division in the State by a faceless group named Osun Network for Equity and Social Justice (ONESJ), clamouring for power shift to Osun West Senatorial District in 2022, the agitation by the group is ridiculous, baseless, unconditional and illogical planed to distract the workaholic governor.”

“Oyetola has paid much attention to the development of the West Senatorial District particularly in the areas of education, health, road infrastructure, political and human development,” he added.

“It gladdens our heart to inform the world that Oyetola has magnanimously face-lifted, and in some areas, built health facilities especially, PHCs across over 100 electoral wards in Osun West District, establishment of the Federal College of Education Iwo and the non career Ambassador recently announced.

“While it is the legitimate right of certain people in Osun West to press for power shift, we just face the reality of the unconstitutionality of the zoning within our great party and should also be acknowledged that the Governor who is performing creditably in the district, deserves the support of the district for a 2nd term which is currently receiving until some attention seekers hide under a faceless platform to make noise.”

Also speaking, Hon. Ayo Tewogbade, the State Youth Leader, said it is not too early to back the governor for second term in office.

“It is not too early for us to endorse Oyetola because we don’t want narrow margin that brought us into government; we are the owner of Party and the custodian of the voters in the State.

” There is no local government that Governor Oyetola hasn’t built hospital. He called it small scale hospitals but they are equivalent to State Hospitals and provided all the equipment they need. So,  why can’t we support him to finish all these good works.

“We want to start early because of insinuation in the party that Governor should come from the West and that is why we are calling on the Youth from East, West, Central to forget that insinuation and after Oyetola reelection, if we see a capable candidate from West, then we go on to endorse and vote for him,” Tewogbade said.

While backing what the S.A on Youth and Sport and the Youth Leader had said, Olayanju Kolapo from Ejigbo L.G also said, Oyetola has increased the level of progress and development in the Senatorial District.

“If it is not too early for some faceless group to come out last week to call on Asiwaju Tinubu, Bisi Akande and others to provide Governor from West in 2022 and to prevail on Oyetola not to contest on 2022, I think it is not too early to declare our support for Oyetola’s reelection.

“The Osun APC youth declare a total support for Oyetola’s administration in the State as a result of the general acceptability by the people of Osun and a vote of confidence on the Governor to lead Osun till 2026, for his foresight, exemplary leadership and administrative skills,” he said.

Among those who were present at the conference are  Engr Mumini Olabamiji, Special Assistant on Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon. Aliyu Tewogbade State Youth Leader, Comr. Imran Mojeeb West Senatorial Youth Leader.
