A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party,Omooba Dotun Babayemi has congratulated the good people of Osun State on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of its creation.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by him,he noted that though successive administrations have contributed their own quotas to the socio-economic development of the state,the yearnings and aspirations of our founding fathers has not been maximally realised.
He acknowledged the tenacity and sagacity of the founding fathers whose contributions will remain indelible in our memory,stating that the invaluable sacrifice of the lates Chief Kola Balogun a former minister of Information,Chief Tunji Abolade , Chief Kunle Odetoyinbo,Owa of Igbajo,Oba Adelani Famodun,Olokuku of Okuku,Oba Moses Oyinlola and his own father,the immediate past Olufi of Gbongan,Oba(Dr)Solomon Babayemi and those of other living legends like the Owa Obokun of Ijesa land Oba (Dr) Adekunle Aromolaran,Ogiyan of Ejigbo,Oba Omowonuola Oyesosin,Dr Olu Alabi and Chief Dosu Ladipo among other notable personalities will never be forgotten.
Omooba Babayemi stressed the need for unalloyed commitment and dedication to the course of the development of the state.
While calling on government to provide more basic amenities and maximum security for the entire people of the state and treat the welfare of pensioners and workers with utmost importance,the Gbongan Prince also called on the citizens to join hands in all efforts to move the state forward.
He prayed God to continue to sustain the peace and tranquility Osun is reputed for.
