Emanuel Ezekiel, 30, has been apprehend for stealing government properties in Jaleyemi area of Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
The suspect was caught moving chairs and tables belonging to Baptist Girl High School, Osogbo at the wee hours of yesterday where he was employed as security guard.
Speaking at the scene, the suspect said he’s only parking the chairs to sell to a buyer later in the day.
Ezekiel said, “The chairs are broken, I’m only helping to clear the mess here. I need money, that’s why I’m doing this, I’m very sorry.”
An eye witness and resident of the area, Engineer Oladele Ajayi lamented the frequent rate at which properties are being stolen at night in the area. He said Goats and other domestic animals have always got missing in the neighborhood, thereby calling on security employers to always do thorough findings before engaging people as guards.
The suspect is expected has been handed over to the police yesterday.
