The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), University of Ibadan chapter has interacted with the eleven aspirants vying for the position of 13th Vice Chancellorship position of the premier University.
The NAAT committee led by its Ag. Chairman, Comrade Yahaya W. Paul met with each aspirant on different day between 30th June and 6th August 2020, each candidate spent between 2 to 4 hours on the hot seat where they discussed their vision and plans for the university.
AMILOADED gathered that the candidates who featured on the interactive session include Prof. Remi Raji Oyelade, former Dean of Arts, Prof. A A Aderinto, former DVC Academics, Prof. O. G Ademowo, pioneer HOD of Medical Laboratory Sciences and formal Dean , Prof T.K Ahmzat of Physiotherapy Department, Prof. B.L Salako, former provost and current Director General of NIMR.
Others are Prof. Kayode Adebowale the current DVC admin., Prof. Olapade Olaopa, immediate past provost, Prof. Tunde Faronbi Formal dean of BMS, Prof. Dele Layiwola formal Director of African Study, Prof. Kolawole of faculty of Education and lastly the formal Chief Medical Director of UCH Prof. Temitope Alonge.
The 12th aspirant Prof. Femi Mimiko was unable to attend the interactive session.
The interaction was a compressive one which centered on basics things that must be considered for any aspirant to become the VC of the great institution, among which are, personality and track record, Academic and administrative Experience, Fund attraction, Upgrade of Utility and infrastructure, Conflict Resolution, Staff and Student welfare, Academic matters , National and International collaboration among others.
AMILOADED was reliably informed that the management and council of the University were aware of the interactive session.
