Osun Farmer Begs For Assistance As Wife Gives Birth To Triplets

A 33-year-old farmer, Israel Owolabi whose wife delivered a set of triplets, has called for financial assistance from Gov. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola and well-meaning Nigerians.

The triplets, two males and one female, were delivered at the OAUTHC Ile-Ife Maternity in Osun on July 24, 2020, and since then, Owolabi, who already had two female children, says he has been finding it difficult to cater for the babies and the nursing mother.

While speaking to our correspondent, he said he had tried every means to get assistance from the state governor and well meaning Nigerians and all to no avail, hence his decision to come to the public.

According to him, although the mother and babies are in a stable condition, the debt of over N500,000 that he has incurred for their treatment is a source of concern.

He said, “I am a farmer though I have a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration. My wife also holds a Higher National Diploma in Survey and Geo-informatics. I work as a farmer and my wife is one of the Oyes corps with registration number is 15/oyes/999.

“I already have two children before my wife gave birth to the triplets. The arrival of the babies should have been a thing of joy, but I am not finding life easy again. I currently owe over N500,000.

“I have spent more than that since she got pregnant and on the delivery and care for the babies. But that is the debt incurred after I have exhausted all I had. I would have run away, but I will never consider that option. I am a farmer and I have spent all I have on the mother and the babies.

“I would be glad if Governor Oyetola and other well-meaning residents of the state could come to our aid at this time of need.
My income is too meager to sustain the family. All the efforts I have made have not paid off and we seriously need extra support.”

“We are also calling on well-meaning Nigerians to, as usual, lend a helping hand to these young family to take care of the babies.”

The parents of the children can be reached on 07033214941 or 07033214940, while donations can be paid into this first bank account number: 3128847957
