Ijebu jesa Gets New Monarch (See Photos)

The ancient town of Ijebu jesa gained prominence on Tuesday 7th November, 2017 as dignitaries from all works of life converged to honour the newly installed Elegboro of Ijebu jesa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oluwafemi Agunsoye during the official presentation of staff of office to him.

Amiloaded gathered that the new monarch was installed following the demise of Oba Taiwo Aribisala, couple of months ago at the age of 88.

The Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who was represented at the occasion by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Kolapo Alimi officially presented the staff of office to the new monarch.

In the Commissioner’s remark,  he urged the newly coronated King to maintain balance and see to the development of the town.

Alimi asked the traditional ruler to also cooperate with the chiefs his Paramount in his reign so as to enhance rapid development of the town and the people in general.

Roll call of important dignitaries at the coronation ceremony include; Oba Dr. Ajayi Odunayo. Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa. Oba Areola, the Aringbajo of Igbajo Erinmo Ijesa. Hon Olufemi Balogun, former Senior Special Asstant on Internal Revenue of Osun State, Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun, Former Oriade Local Government Secretary, Mr. Seyi Abe, The Ven. E.A Okuyelu, the Rev. Canon John Agunsoye and The Rev. J. B. Z. Balogun and other prominent personalities.
