Vigilance Group Arrests 3 Armed Robbery Suspects In Osun

Men of a vigilance group on Saturday apprehended three armed robbery suspects while terrorising indigenes and residents of Ipetumodu in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun state.

It was gathered that about six men had stormed Odo-Oba area of Ipetumodu on Friday midnight to rob before the vigilante group, made up of residents of Ipetumodu, foiled the robbery.

The armed robbery suspects and vigilante men had engaged in a gun duel before the vigilantes overpowered the daredevil robbers.

Three of the six suspects were later arrested and handed over to the Ipetumodu Police Division. No life was lost in the encounter.

The arrested suspects were said to be providing useful information to the Nigerian police Ipetumodu division for the whereabout of others.

According to one of the arrested robbers, four of them were from Ibadan, Oyo state capital while the two others are from Osun.

A member of vigilante group who spoke under the condition of anonymity said that their proactiveness led to the arrest of the suspects.

He thanked God for the success and called for the support of all and sundry to beef up the security of the land.

He called on individuals and indigeneous groups to come to the aid of his group, saying they are ready to do more, if encouraged.
