A fast rising Master Of ceremonies/Compere, Media Consultant and youth ambassador, Alawode Olamide (Massive CCFR) has hailed the management of the Osun State University for approving and inaugurating the Osun State University Student Union (OSUSU).
Massive CCFR, an alumnus of the institution who studied Linguistics and Communication described the establishment of OSUSU as a “Democracy Day Gift” for the students adding that it was a democratic decision for the school management.
In a statement made available to AMILOADED on Friday, the Master of Ceremony advised students and youths generally to shun cultism and other social vices.
He said with the approval of the student body, students can understand the democratic value of education and realise the significance of self-determination, integrity, justice, and respect which would equip them for future leadership assignment.
“I therefore salute the courage of the JCC (joint campus committee ) on their relentless effort to actualise this dream. I want to advise the students not to misuse this golden opportunity to be heard and be actively involved in actualising the goals of the university.
Recall that in a meeting with various students leaders comprising the faculty presidents from the six UNIOSUN campuses, the Dean Students Affairs Office, and the University management on Tuesday, the university approved OSUSU after much deliberation and amendments to the proposed students Union constitution.
“This is a welcomed development and its one that’s well overdue for the vibrant students’ leaders to practise their activism and actualise their goals and objectives for the university and general students population.
“It should be noted that the struggle to create a student union body in Osun State University started years ago under the Joint Campus Committee. And seeing it come to fruition is a step in the right direction. Aluta Continua!,” Massive CCFR noted.
