Legit.ng had earlier reported that the Lagos state government had also on Tuesday, May 12, discharged a batch of 33 patients who fully recovered from the disease.
This was disclosed by the commissioner for health in the state, Professor Akin Abayomi.
Meanwhile, the commissioner also confirmed that a Nigerian returnee from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was dead.
On his verified Twitter handle Abayomi disclosed that the Nigerian, a male of 32 years old, died of complications from coronavirus.
However, in an update on Twitter, Abayomi said it was a presumed coronavirus-related death, adding that the test result of the deceased was not yet out.
The commissioner regretted any misinterpretation his earlier announcement must have caused, adding that the test result will be published once it is out.
We need to appreciate the executive governor of Lagos State and the medical team headed by the honourable commissioner for health. It’s good to mention here that Lagos State has been so lucky to have dedicated proffessionals at the helm of affairs in each sector, even the palliatives distribution were excellent. Leadership qualities are best appreciated during crisis.
His Excellency gov sanwoolu and his deputy has proven their competency at this point in time, this is not politics, the health commissioner has done wonderfully well as a professor of repute. Kudos to the health practitioners who are at the coal face, Only God can reward all of you abundantly…….. We have come to realize that COVID 19 is not and will never be a death sentence if we adhere to the rules set down by the government and health directory’s.
