The Osun State Police has arrested a 27-year-old man, Akinde Adeniyi, for bathing his wife, Akinde Deborah, with hot water while she was asleep for infidelity in marriage.
It was learnt that the unfortunate incident happened at the couple’s residential home, Oke-Owu area, Modakeke around 12:30 AM on Tuesday.
A source who confided in our correspondent said the jealous husband had always alleged his wife of having extra-marital affairs and also warned her to desist from such act.
“Adeniyi poured hot water on the face of his wife who was asleep and caused a grievous burn on her face and body. She suffered a high degree burn and she has been rushed to a hospital.
It was also gathered that one Falola Morufu hinted the police about the incident before the husband, Adeniyi was arrested.
The Nation gathered that Deborah has been taken to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife for treatment.
The Osun State Police public relations officer, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident saying the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, has directed a full investigation into the matter.
