Newly Elected Iwoland Students’ Union Officers Pay Courtesy Visit to Police

The newly elected officers of the Federation Of Iwoland Students Union (FILSU) have paid a courtesy visit to police authorities in Iwo town and lauded the Nigeria Police Fortlce for its efforts at ensuring peace and order during the conduct of their elections.

The FILSU delegates led by the President, Comr Abeeb Muyiwa BalogunJorjor embarked on the visitation to the station of the Nigeria Police Force, Iwo situated at the Adeeke area, Iwo and thanked the police officers for their security presence during the poll.

Other members of the delegation included the Vice-President, Ademola Adeleke Sanjay, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Ridhwan A’Ghaniy Becool, the Financial Secretary, Comr Hammed Ridwan Admin, and the Election Petition Chairman; Barr Salawu Ilyas Jega.

They met with members of the Nigeria Police Force including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Alalade D. Adio, Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) and the Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO).

The FILSU President appreciated the police officers for their continuous security provision before, during and after the union’s election for students and entire Iwoland. He then asked that the police should release the earlier arrested Iwoland Students on bail.

The DPO having appreciated the crew and also responded to the president request except on the ground of one guy whose case could not be granted bail, because a plaintiff is involved and the offence is criminal. He however, promised to work in favour of the students’ request.

The DPO then promised further and stronger security support but advised the students to always be cordial with the force. The DCO also advised the students union to be peaceful in their conducts while the DTO  appealed for lawful conduct.

The police force then wished the union officers successful tenure. The delegates exchanged pleasantries and took pictures with the police officers.
